The Great American Truck Show (GATS) was this year held in Dallas, Texas. The 3-day showcase saw over 50,000 attendees come through the half a million square feet of exhibit space. With over 550 exhibits the trucking community was well represented. They even had about 50 health contributor’s stands. If you missed out on GATS this year, then you missed out on a lot. In addition to the trucking and health showcase domes, seminars were held throughout the three days, marketing over 50,000 useful industry products. There were also Partners in Business sessions with Kevin Rutherford on the American Strong stage.
This year’s highlights included the ToughTested team who together with George and Wendy Parker stopped by GATS on their 15 thousand miles tour. The team together with ambassadors Bill Weaver, JacindaLadyTruck’n and Tom Kyrk, were at booth #521. They showcased the ‘ToughTested Power Sled”, the Freightliner Coronado built by 4 State Trucks team.
The team brought with them product demos, excitement and company goodwill to the trucking community in Dallas. Featured products included BigFoot, the 24,000mAH power bank. The fast charge, 90-second water resistant Qualcomm® QC3 technology battery also uses solar energy to charge phones and tablets a minimum of 10 times. It can even charge a Macbook.
Backshield Inc. premiered at GATS this year, providing a range of back problem solutions for long distance drivers. Their solutions are tailored to different types of trucks, they are easy to use and very easy to carry. Designed to fit big rigs, RV’s and other automobiles, their solutions come with a money back guarantee. This is welcome news for long haulers.
Another first-timer at GATS 2018 was Unimark Truck Transport in booth #3438. Joining the trucking revolution, they bring you truck transportation solutions. The well-reputed firm was offering goodies too for all company drivers who registered during the GATS 2018 show and got hired by 09/25/2018. Truckers who registered at the event got $480 worth of toolkits, absolutely free.
Overviews Pride and Polish stole the show with Bradley Wack’s rig. Winning two years in a row, the People’s Choice went to his Army-Air Force Exchange, 2019 Freightliner Cascadia. The impressive rig with a 2017 van has eye-catching graphics, featuring the American flag, bald eagle, and military tribute-style illustrations. However, Robbie Basses’ Baby Blue W900, 2016 Fontaine Infinity flatbed, was the belle of the ball. In the working Combo Category, she earned the Best of Show. The polished aluminum flatbed is used in Basse Transportation’s daily business in Hinton, Oklahoma.
There were over 600 trucks at the Petro Truck Parking community and over 150 trucks on the main exhibition floor. Randal and the entire GATS team made sure there was also good food and great entertainment (featuring Jesse Raub Jr and Tony Justice). What’s not to love about this great convention of amazing trucks and innovative trucking solutions all under one roof? If you missed the show this year, make sure you book your tickets in advance for next year’s showcase.
